Oh, poor rich people... they really needed a break...

I read your post on the poor rich people and I agree. Now the idea of making those tax cuts is in the House and cuts for aid to poor people are pending. This all seems to me immoral. But guess who's got the monopoly on "morality"? Yep, the religious right, neo-con, Republican dominated executive and legistlative branches of our government. Not to mention the single-issue voters who stick with these leaders simply because they agree with them on abortion and gay marriage. Hopefully the pendulum will begin swinging back to the left very soon. The majority of our hard-working citizens' lives depend on it. Best wishes, universitymom07

Single Mom, college student, tutor needs help relocating to grad school

Good luck on your venture with the web portal. I'm a little unsure, though, of how I can help you or you me. Could you be more specific? What type of services will you offer? Thanks and best wishes, Beshka

Friends Helping Friends

I think this is a wonderful site! It really boosts my faith in people. It is possible to meet each other's needs if people just reach out to one another. I noticed that you visited my post/page and I'm wondering if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions for me. I realize that I'm not in any immediate need, other than the day to day expenses of caring for young children and keeping a car running, but I feel that I'll be able to make a worthwhile contribution to society if I am able to get my advanced degrees. Any ideas??

I am a single mother and college student with excellent grades, a double major in sociology and human services, and a minor in political science. I know I'll be an excellent candidate for grad school and plan to make a positive difference in the world. However, I need resources on possible funding for relocation expenses when I move to attend grad school in 2008. Do you have any advice?

Do you have any advice on how one would find funds for relocation to attend graduate school? I plan on moving in 2008.

Single Mom, college student, tutor needs help relocating to grad school

I am a single mom and college student. I live in poverty and I have a feeling that a job that requires a bachelor's degree will not support my kids and pay back my loans. We don't receive child support. However, I make excellent grades in college and am eager to go to grad school. When I graduate with my bachelor's however, I'll be penniless until I get to where I'm going. I need help with relocation expenses, when the time comes. This is for the future of my family and our survival. My goals as a sociologist and Human Services worker are to help others and improve social conditions in our country, either through teaching or activity related to public policy and research. If someone would sponsor me and help me get to where I'm going, literally--grad school, that would be the ultimate gift.

I can also offer my services as an on-line tutor. I received a 4.0 gpa during my last two semesters and am very knowledgeable in sociology and political science. If you need me, let me know!!

I am intersted in social justice, consider myself to be an ethically concerned person, love my children, sunshine, and books. I like to listen to Bob Dylan and donate household items and clothing to local charities. Sometimes I'm able to send a little cash to a good cause. I'm simple and do not desire material success, only the success of knowing I'm contributing to the betterment of society and able to provide for my children.
